The Stuff of Memories

In reading Rick Marin’s article in the Sunday New York Times, Lives: Objects of Accumulation,” http://www.nytimes.com/2010/04/25/magazine/25lives-t.html

I understood.  All that “stuff” my mother kept over the years – too hard to throw away – or even give away.  The thought that someone else might not know their history is unthinkable.

I keep cleaning, and sorting – but the piles don’t seem to be getting any smaller.
